Pisa 피사

Hi, it’s me Marimonda!

Today, I’d like to introduce you Pisa, a town famous for its leaning tower. The leaning tower of Pisa is famous because it’s not straight like other buildings. Also, it’s a place where Galileo did his well-known experiment of dropping two spheres of different masses to see the mass of the object is independent from its descenting time. Probably the tower would be more noted to the people than the town.

As one of the Seven Wonders of the world, the tower is tilted. After few centuries, the tower was in danger of collapse, thus it was necessary to straighten up the tower. In 1990, the tower was shut down for 11 years to restore. With technology, now it’s saved from collapse but still keep its uniqueness.

The town is very small, and there are only few people on the street. Once you step in the Duomo Plaza in Pisa where you will be surprised to see people loaded up in the plaza with funny pose. Just looking at the people, the time will pass quickly. It was pitiful that I couldn’t spend enough time to go up the tower and look around the town since my schedule didn’t allow me to do all activities.

There is not many things to see in Pisa village except the three buildings in the Duomo Plaza. There are universities but as a tourist, you may not visit there I guess. You can walk to there from Pisa station. It takes about 20 mins. The city doesn’t seem dangerous, but some gypsies and pickpockets on the way to the plaza.

Hope you enjoyed the visit to Pisa with Marimonda! See you soon 🙂
