Hi, it’s me Marimonda!
Today, I’d like to share executive lounge experience at JW Marriott Seoul. This is one of the luxurious premium hotels in Seoul, also the price reflects its premium. One of my friends who’s visiting Korea was staying here and she invited me to executive lounge for breakfast and afternoon tea. Thanks to her, I can share this experience with you.
JW Marriott is located in Banpo, Seocho area in Seoul. This is not a center of Seoul, but it’s in the neighborhood where you may find everything you need. It’s just next to Express Bus Terminal and Shinsegae Department Store. Also, it’s very close to Gangnam where you can enjoy nightlife. The hotel is connected to the second floor of the department store, there is a connecting alley next to Bulgari.
Seorae village, a French district in Seoul, is walking distance from the hotel. There are authentic French restaurants you can enjoy, also you may find one of the best bakeries in Seoul.
On the weekend including holidays, the hotel offers free shuttle to center of the city (Itaewon, Myeongdong and Namdaemoon) where are the most popular places by locals and tourists. For more information about the shuttle bus call 02.6282.6407.
The hotel finished its renovation recently. It is very modern and simple. A classical music is on the lobby so it’s also very peaceful. The staffs were very helpful. The check-in lobby is on the 8th floor, but for people who’s staying executive room or above can check-in on the 9th floor at the executive lounge. The lobby is quite big, and there’s a cafe where you can grab a cup of coffee with city view.
The restroom is also decent.
The hotel has many facilities inside, so you may stay in the whole day. There is a spa, fitness center and pool where you can work out and relax. There is a meeting room for business travelers. You can also dine at restaurants inside hotel such as Flavors (buffet), Cafe one (coffee & italian), Tamayura (Japanese), Patisserie (French pastry), The Margaux Grill (Grilled food), The Lounge (Dim sum) and Mobo Bar(drinks). JW Marriott seemed to be a perfect place to do a hocance (hotel + vacance).
Breakfast buffet at executive lounge had various options. The buffet has many sections from Korean food to continental style. Some chefs are ready to cook on your request. When I went there, they had pho (vietnamese soup with rice noodle) and cooked it in front of you. Compared to European hotels, Korean high-end hotels offer more options in my opinion. The breakfast at the executive lounge is offered from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. I went there around 9 a.m. and the lounge was quite crowded with the people who’s having late breakfast.
Afternoon tea is served between 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The staff will help you to get a seat, and then take the order for drinks. With the drinks, some finger foods(usually sweets) are served. Compared to the morning, there were less people in the lounge. So we could enjoy some tranquil moment.
The executive lounge (9th floor) runs from 6 a.m to 11:30 p.m.and it served five different food and drink services.
The schedule is as following.
6 a.m. – 10 a.m. Breakfast
2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Afternoon tea
4: 30 p.m. – 7 : 30 p.m. Dinner
6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Cocktail
8 p.m. – 10 p.m. Drinks & Desserts
*Meeting room is available for two hours with reservation.
Happy travel with Marimonda. See you soon 🙂
