Hi, it’s me Marimonda.
Continuing to the previous article on Jeju island, Today, I’d like to share my experience at Kumho Jeju Resort. I stayed here for two nights. Since I booked the room a week before, I couldn’t get the same room for two days. This is four-star resort with some facilities in it.
Kumho Jeju Resort is located in Seogwipo. There is no beach connected to the resort, but the ocean view from the cliff and the resort is amazing. Plus, it has a great trekking course so that the clients can take a walk the all-day long. It takes about one hour and half by car from Jeju International Airport. Thus, if you book a room here, it would be better to visit some places during the day and then go to the resort at night to check-in.
There are many facilities inside the resort. Including the trekking course I mentioned above, Aquana(water park), CU(convenience store), Dunkin Donuts, Massage shop, Arcade, Gift shop, Sauna and Recreation Hall are available. It seems like it’s a perfect place for a family to relax. The place is not fancy, but equipped with everything we needed.
The first night, I stayed at Suite (Hansil). It has two rooms and two bathrooms. Simple silverware and cooking tools are provided in the kitchen. Toilet paper, towel, soap is placed in the bathroom, but no amenities. You need to bring your own toiletry.
The second night, I changed my room to Suite Deluxe in the main building. It has two beds in a room and one toilet. Other facilities were same or even better in this room type.
Meanwhile, I prefer the former one since it has two toilets. Since we were five (3 adults + 2 kids) It saved a lot of time in the morning to get ready to go out. Actually, we had to use the sauna in order to save time.
Breakfast buffet is divided into two sections : Korean style and Western style. Most of the guest were Koreans when I stayed here. Thus, Korean food was more popular than bread. Though it seemed that kids prefer pastry and cereal for breakfast. But the meal is served in the same hall, so you can try both of them without any problem. Every night you can purchase breakfast meal coupon at the reception.
Oh, one thing to remember is that some bottled sauce in the salad section are not to eat. I saw a bottle of olive oil and tried to use it for my salad. But a staff came to me and told me they were only for decoration. I think they should have put a sign next to it not to make clients be confused.
This is not a luxury place, rather a place for a reunion or a family trip. Though, it’s a bit away from popular tourist destinations (about 30 mins). We stayed suite for 2 days including breakfast and it was little less than 150,000 per night.
Enjoy your trip with Marimonda. See you soon 🙂
Reception opens for 24 hours.
