Coronavirus in Colombia

Hi, it’s me Marimonda.

Today, I ‘d like to talk about the current situation in Colombia regarding coronavirus.

According to El Tiempo, one of the biggest news companies in Colombia, 45 cases have been confirmed covid-19. Also, the number of cases have been increased during the week.

Today (On Sunday March 15) the Government of Colombia announced that beginning Monday, March 16 at 12:01 a.m., non-Colombian citizens and non-Colombian residents will be prohibited from arriving in Colombia. All arriving passengers (Colombian citizens and residents) will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days. This is a stronger action than previously planned one since the number of coronavirus case has been increased rapidly in the country. Later today, the government also announced that schools will be closed as of March 16.

The information can change frequently without prior notice, thus I would say keep updated and ask the embassy before plan the travel if it’s inevitable.

Hope this information helps you. I’m going to upload articles about travelling since there are many places I’d been to but I haven’t updated yet. Posting articles about travelling don’t mean that I am travelling around these days. Hopefully this situation over soon.

Stay safe and see you soon.
