Cancún and Emporio Cancún

Hi, it’s me Marimonda. Continuing my Caribbean Cruise series, today I’d like to share my visit to Cancún, on the Yucatán Peninsula bordering the Caribbean Sea.

In 2015, I visited one of my friends in Mexico City (CDMX) for 10 days. It was the first and the last time (so far) I’ve ever been to Mexico, and I wanted to know outside of the city. Spontaneously, we decided to go to Cancún and booked flights and accommodation for two nights and three days leaving the following morning via expedia. Since we booked the tickets at the last minutes, I think we couldn’t get the best deal (but not that bad at the same time). We paid about 6,800 MXN(Mexican Peso) for the flights and hotel at that time.

From beautiful beaches, to its famous archeological sites such as Chichen Itza or Tulúm, a well-known nightclub Coco Bongo, Xcalet, or Xelha… Cancún is full of amazing places. You can enjoy every single moment day and night. I wish I had more time there if I knew there are so many things to do and see.

From Mexico City to Cancún

From Mexico City to Cancún, it takes about two hours by flights. We booked our flight leaving in the morning and one returning at night in two days so we can take advantage as much as possible within our budget.

Once we arrived at the airport, we didn’t have to do the immigration because it was a domestic flight. Thus, everything went very smoothly and quick. We met the driver who was sent by the hotel at the entrance and headed to the hotel.

Hotel Emporio Cancún

Actually, hotel might be the most crucial factor when you set your budget. No doubt, I found activities in Cancún were pretty expensive. Considering Cancún is a place loved by many honeymooners from all around the world, if you choose an all-inclusive luxury hotel, your budget will go up rapidly. In my case, I preferred visit nearby places and get to know the areas to stay in the hotel during my journey, so I could save some bucks and use it to explore the area. Thus, I just booked a room with breakfast.

Hotel Emporio Cancún is located in the hotel zone in Cancún. Luckily, I was assigned a room with ocean view. Thus, I could wake up with the beautiful Sunrise every morning.

Facilities

The hotel is equipped well with various facilities. I list five facilities that might catch your interest.

Private Beach. Most hotels in the hotel zone in Cancún offer easy access to the beach. The beach in front of the hotel is usually private, which means only the hotel guests are allowed to use. I think it was very nice because as you can see in the picture, the beach is less crowded and you can actually chill out.

Beach Bar. There’s a bar on the beach, thus it was very convenient to order some drinks. I also ordered few drinks and spent a pleasant afternoon.

Outdoor Pool. There is also a pool in the hotel. I found it very vacant because most people prefer to go to the beach rather than the pool.

Spa. Spa and massage was also available with extra charge.

Event Hall. There’s event halls (including small places for a private event) which you can prepare your private meal time, reunion, or even wedding.

I hope you enjoyed the virtual visit to Cancún and some review on the hotel. Thanks to visit my blog. The next post will be about <Xochimilco> in Cancún. Take care and see you soon! 🙂
